

A Superintendent of Police (SP) in Lagos has been shot dead and two other cops have allegedly been injured after commercial motorcyclists attacked them in Ajao Estate area of Lagos state on Thursday, September 23.
The policemen were trying to impound motorcyclists when the motorcyclists attacked them. The officers had succeeded in seizing some of the bikes for allegedly flouting the State Traffic Law when the aggrieved motorcyclists mobilized and attacked them.
Eyewitnesses said most of the motorcyclists majorly from Northern Nigeria. They disarmed the SP and used his service firearm to kill him along Asa Afariogun Road by the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG). The riotous bikers were said to have extended their battle with the police towards the station where they allegedly shot two more officers and burnt a patrol van.
The state police command is yet to comment on the incident.
