10 security and safety tips to stay safe in Nigeria with the insecurities in the nation

A lot of bad things has been happening of recent in Nigeria and the world at large.

The recent occurrences (such as kidnapping and others) in Nigeria has made a lot of people to find a way to travel out of the nation.

Though, some people have a way to leave the country, but for those that have no way of leaving the country yet, we are here to help you with some safety tips that can help you cope and stay safe in Nigeria.

1. When going out, tell at least one person your whereabouts

Yes, before going out, please let one of your friends or neighbours know about the place you are going to cos you really don’t know what is gonna happen (nothing bad will happen to us in Jesus name).

2. Always have your phone charged as long as you are outside

We know how bad electricity is in this country so, it’s advisable to get a power bank or generator and you can always charge your phone elsewhere before going out.

3. Always have airtime to call or send a text

Before embarking on any journey, always have call card and data on your phone for security purpose so, you can let people know of your whereabouts if anything is becoming difficult to understand.

4. Try not to stay out late except the matters are really serious

We know how fun staying out till the late hour is, but it’s actually not important to stay out late except you have a serious matter to attend to.

5. Try to avoid heated political discussions on tribal or religious discussions in public transports or public places

Please o, nobody actually need your opinion about the political situation of the country, but we really need it. Maybe not inside the bus. To be frank, you really need to be careful of what you say in public places and even in private places cos you really don’t know who is who in this life.

6. Be sensitive in your spirit. When you feel like your spirit is saying no about where you are going. My dear, please don’t go

Sometimes, we tend to offend people intentionally or unintentionally. So, if anyone says you offend him or her, always apologise as it won’t take anything away from you. Apologise and move on with everything.

Business partners can call at anytime, but telling the caller to call you back at a very conveinient time isn’t a wrong thing to do.

Negotiation around money or declaring a certain monetary figure should be done indoors and not in public places.

9. Trust no one, Trust only God

As we all know that anyone can betray at anytime. Yes! Even siblings betray each other. We can only hope and trust in God cos he’s really the only one that won’t fail or betray us.

10. Pray about everything

As we all know that there is nothing prayer cannot solve. Prayer goes before and after everything if we pray.
